Alternative Strategies for Rhododendron Care

presented by
Jeff Dieringer

Jeff Dieringer of Dieringer Nursery Company will be the speaker at the first regular chapter meeting of the Portland Chapter of the ARS

Dieringer Nursery represents a nursery and plant propagation business that was started over 50 years ago. It is located in Hubbard, Oregon, which in turn is some 15 miles south of Portland.

Dieringer Nursery specializes in both field grown and container grown rhododendrons. They strive to incorporate so called “organic” methods into rhododendron production. Dieringer Nursery is committed to the highest standards of commercial rhododendron production , while at the same time it is pioneering new ideas in organic and alternative rhododendron care.

Jeff is no stranger to the challenges of propagating and cultivating rhododendrons, and has also learned much by trial and error. He has agreed to come and share his experiences; come, learn how to avoid his mistakes, let him open your eyes to his ideas, and be inspired to conquer the challenges to be found in your own garden this spring.

If you are looking for an alternative to using expensive pesticides, or wish to establish an environmentally-approved rhododendron garden, this is the meeting you have been waiting for.
