An acknowledged expert on the rhododendrons and conifers, Ian J.W. Sinclair will conclude his month-long North American tour with a stop in Portland, Oregon, on October 16.
Mr. Sinclair developed his horticultural skills during 10 years at the renowned Royal Botanical Gardens at Edinburg. The following decade was spent as Garden Supervisor at the Younger Botanic Garden Benmore in Argyll, Scotland. At Benmore, he created the Bhutanese Glade based on his nine years of observations in Bhutan.
Mr. Sinclair has also gone on numerous plant hunting expeditions to Yunan, Borneo, and Sarawak. His talk will concentrate on his time at Benmore and in Bhutan, but will probably also go further afield to other plant locales.
