The First Saturday in April, April 2, 2005
in the exhibition hall (the Cool House) at Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden.
This year the show is to be held from noon to 5 PM on April 2nd (second), 2005,
with the plant sale starting at 9 AM. The show is closed to the public before
noon because the entries are being judged by our panel of rhododendron experts!
This promises to be a very interesting show. Twothousand five has been a very unseasonal Spring in Portland. Very warm temperatures mean that many plants are blooming earlier than usual. Just what blooms at the time of the Show is always modified by the late frosts that often visit Portland, but even with considered many more early bloomers should be in evidence when compared to other years.
At the completion of the show, summaries of the winners (but not the losers because we don't have any of those) will be posted here, along with a picture gallery of the show. In the meantime, here are a few pictures of early blooming rhododendrons to whet your appetite, along with the SHOW RULES and the COVER PAGE for this year's rule book.
