The Portland Chapter

At the ARS Portland Chapter we invite you to enjoy the wide variety of rhododendrons and companion plants in each our two fine gardens - the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden and the
Cecil & Molly Smith Garden .

We also invite you to join us at one of our monthly meetings . There you will be able to enjoy an informative gardening presentation, get advice from some of our country's most highly esteemed rhododendron growers and propagators, obtain new unusual plants for your garden, or just share time with other gardeners and rhododendron lovers.

If you are from the Portland area and enjoy growing rhododendrons, you've come to the right place. We are happy to share any knowledge we may have, just as we appreciate hearing the gardening experiences of others. Most of all, we enjoy rhododendrons and azaleas in our gardens.

Whether you choose to be our guest at a monthly meeting or prefer to attend one of our special events , we are ready to welcome you at the Portland Chapter.

Thursday, February 16th: Chapter Meeting

Presentation by Diana Reeck of Collector's Nursery
Diana will tell us about the uncommon shade plants that she grows at her nursery. She'll bring some with her to show us what you won't find at other nurseries and, if you're looking for unusual rhododendron companions, this meeting is the place to be. Diana will have some for sale.

February 22nd-26th: Portland Home and Garden Show

Please come and see our booth at the EXPO Center. As usual, we'll have a fabulous display of both hybrid and species rhododendrons, many of them in bloom! This is a great opportunity to select those rhododendrons that work for your garden.

Saturday, March 24th: Smith Garden Work Party

We hope you'll plan to help us prepare the garden for the spring viewing season.
